If you would like to help us improve our local community, then become a member of the Bedford & Kempston Conservative Association.

We welcome and encourage all Conservative supporters in Bedford and Kempston, to join our Association. Maybe you live or work in Bedford and Kempston or perhaps you have other links such as family or education at the university.

Regardless of where you live currently, our Association is keen to welcome you.

Being a member of Bedford & Kempston Conservative Association means that you have joined one of the most open and democratic political parties in Britain. By joining BKCA, you also become a member of the Conservative Party.

Any person living in the United Kingdom is eligible to join the Conservative Party. Applicants are not required to be registered voters or UK nationals. There is no upper or lower age limit on membership, although children under the age of 15 cannot be enrolled as full voting members.

All Members can choose to play an active role in the Party, and receive important voting rights in Party elections.  As a Party Member, you’ll be able to:

  • Connect with local Conservatives - join us at our regular get togethers and social events and meet people with similar views. Join us for special events including Christmas Dinner or events with guest speakers including MP's and Ministers.

  • Get the latest from inside the Party – with regular local and national member updates

  • Influence Party policy - join the Conservative Policy Forum (CFP). Regular meetings of our local Conservative Policy Forum collect members views on a number of policy areas. These are directly fed in to our Association management team and the national organisation. Feel free to submit your own ideas for debate also.

  • Stand for election - Candidates are at the heart of the Conservative Party. They drive our campaigns and win elections. They stand up for their local communities.

  • Choose the candidates who’ll stand in local & parliamentary elections - Members can have a direct say on which candidate stands in their area for election.

  • Come to Conference - Join our MPs, councillors and activists in the biggest event of the Conservative calendar.
